Los Gatos: Sen. Beall commended by city of Saratoga

The city of Saratoga presented a commendation Nov. 18 to state Sen. Jim Beall for his part in working with the state Department of Finance on correcting the tax equity allocation funding for the city.

Along with Saratoga, the cities of Monte Sereno and Cupertino and the town of Los Altos Hills are getting their share of $2.5 million in property tax allocation after lawmakers approved a bill that corrects a long-standing problem whereby those four municipalities were given 2 percent less than the minimum allocation of 7 percent in property tax revenue.

Beall has been behind the effort since 2006 when he was a county supervisor.
