Governor Jerry Brown Endorses Jim Beall for State Senate

Brown Cites Beall’s Record of Accomplishment

San Jose, CA — State Senator Jim Beall announced today that Governor Jerry Brown has endorsed his campaign for reelection to the State Senate. Brown joins dozens of other local and state leaders in supporting Beall, including Controller Betty Yee, Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson, Board of Equalization Chair Fiona Ma, Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren, State Senate President pro Tem Kevin de Leon and all of his Democratic colleagues in the State Senate.

"Jim Beall is a real leader. He has what it takes to get the job done,” said Governor Brown. “I'm proud to endorse him for reelection."

In addition to Governor Brown, Beall has the support of the California Democratic Party, more than 100 state and local elected officials in his campaign. He has also been endorsed by several major statewide organizations, such as the California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV), California Teachers Association (CTA), CAL FIRE, Local 2881, California Professional Firefighters and Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC). 

Beall currently represents California’s 15th District, which includes most of Santa Clara County, including the cities of Cupertino, Los Gatos, Campbell, Saratoga, Monte Sereno, and the San Jose neighborhoods of Willow Glen, Almaden, Evergreen, East San Jose and Downtown. A San Jose native, Jim previously served on the City Council, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors and in the State Assembly.
